A Victorian metal planer, with no known history. Although I will surmise this much:-
* The quality of the castings is exceptional.
* The finish on all machined parts is exceptional.
* Considering its size "tiny" it should not have double bevel gears, these were normally only used on full size machines.
* The gantry has moulded sections as per a full size machine as well.
Therefore all points considered I am going to venture that this was originally made as an example of a full size machine, much like a tradesmans sample that could be taken to various prospective purchasers.
* On the down side it has lost its stand or legs, so one day that will be sorted when it takes its turn for a full restoration.
